Hi, I’m Karots, the Welsh pony, and though I may be a bit older now, I still have a mischievous streak! As a lesson pony, I spend my days teaching children not just how to ride but how to stay alert and on their toes! My mornings start like anyone else's—with breakfast, but don’t dare give me food I don’t like, or I’ll simply refuse to eat! After my meal, I play with my pony pals—biting, kicking, and running around wildly—it’s our favorite way to bond! Then, the real fun begins. I know when the children arrive, and I can’t wait to greet them. I like to test my new two-legged friends as soon as they put the halter on, by bolting out of the stall. Sometimes I run so fast I lift them right off their feet—what a ride! Of course, if they let go of the lead rope, it’s FREEDOM! I trot around like the star of my own parade, and the humans reward me with carrots and cookies for my stellar performance. Once they catch me, it’s time for the next round of fun in the arena. I make sure their ride is exciting—no boring trotting in circles for me! I prefer zig-zag patterns, spontaneous canters, and inserting my head or leg through the fence, just to make them squeal. I’ve also mastered the art of picking up branches, just to see how long I can hold on while they try to pry them from my mouth! Of course, after all that fun, I always end the day with good behavior. The children un-tack me, give me lots of scratches (the human version of chewing, I’ve learned), and most importantly, plenty of carrots. After all, carrots are a Karots’ favorite treat!

1. John Jr and Yuēhàn loved to learn about US history. They decided to look into the War of 1812. John Jr's mom actually let them watch a TV special about it. 2. John Jr and Yuēhàn learned that The War of 1812 was fought by the United States and against the United Kingdom and its allies in North America. It began when the United States declared war on Britain on 18 June 1812. Although peace terms were agreed upon in the December 1814 Treaty of Ghent, the war did not officially end until the peace treaty was ratified by the United States Congress on 17 February 1815. 2. John Jr highlighted some important points about the War of 1812 to Yuēhàn. These points included: The war was fought over trade practices, territorial expansion, and British support for Tecumseh's confederacy, The British Royal Navy took American sailors from their ships and forced them to join the British Navy, The war ended in a stalemate, with no side losing territory, except for the Native Americans, The war is sometimes called the Second War of Independence, The war was a result of the wider conflict between Great Britain and France over who would dominate the world 3. John Jr and Yuehan was glad to hear that On February 16, 1815, the day President James Madison sent the Treaty of Ghent to the Senate, the War of 1812 came to an end.

1. John Jr and Nazut were playing in the backyard, when the saw a few hot air balloons in the sky. 2. John Jr and Nazut thought it looked fun and went inside to tell John Jr's parents. 3. John Jr's parents seemed pretty receptive to possibly going on a Hot Air Ballon as a family. They told John Jr and Nazut to find out more information. 4. John Jr and Nazut went to the internet. They found a company that wasn't too far from their home. 5. They found out it would cost about $200 per person and would last about an hour. John Jr and Nazut went back and told John Jr's parents and his mom made the reservations. 6. The long awaited day for the hot air balloon arrived and it was beautifully clear. As the pilot inflates the balloon, John Jr and Nazut can feel the heat from the burners and hear them roar. Once balloon was upright everyone boarded the super size basket. The take off was slow. John Jr and Nazut felt a breeze everytime they went to a new altitude. 6. John Jr and Nazut feel weightless as they glide through the air with the wind, traveling at speeds of five to six miles per hour. The 360 degree view was spectacular. Everything below looked so tiny. As the end of the ride approached, John Jr and Nazut thanked the pilot for "a magical experience that' was peaceful, exhilarating, and gentle." 7. The pilot had to keep using the burners to get the balloon to land. Once landed, everyone left the basket. John Jr and Nazut Thanked the pilot for an awesome time.

A two month little black cat with yellow eyes was lost from her mother and tried to survive on her own. She tried to find food and a place to feel warm but that was very hard. She got sick because she caught a disease from other stray cats and she was in very bad condition. A girl that was feeding stray animals at her neighborhood noticed the little cat and wanted to help her. She caught the little cat and named her Leila. The girl asked from her friend Toula to host Leila at her home until she found a family to adopt her. Her friend said yes and took Leila at her place. Toula and Leila were having a very nice time together they played and sleep together every night. Toula decided to adopt Leila and since then they a family!
