And off they went. When they arrived, Niro saw multiple puzzle pieces floating by and then suddenly a tall puzzle piece appeared before them. It was King Jiggy of Jigsaw Land. He said - "Welcome to Jigsaw Land. My nephew, Max, is the missing piece in the puzzle. Please help me find him otherwise the puzzle will remain incomplete. " Niro became the detective. He asked King Jiggy - "Where did you last see him?" "I saw him near the sphinx which asks questions, " King Jiggy replied. "The sphinx has the head of a human, body of a lion and wings of an eagle. " Niro and Zo went to the Sphinx, and asked him - "Have you seen Max?" "I will tell you the way to Max if you answer this question - 'What has a head and a tail but no body?'" Zo replied thoughtfully - "Head and a tail? What can it be Niro?" Niro said - "I know! It's a coin!" . The sphinx smiled and lifted its paw to let them inside. It was dark and dingy. They suddenly heard someone laugh loudly. When they looked to the right, they saw a firefly which was glowing in the dark. "Hi! I am Light! Where do you want to go?" "We lost Max, a jigsaw puzzle piece. Have you seen him?" "Yes! He went that way. Let me take you. " As Light went ahead, their way was blocked by a giant frog. He croaked - "I go up and down, but never move. What am I?" Zo wondered and then replied - "A staircase!" "You are right! You may enter!" Then all of them moved ahead and found Max sobbing in a corner. Max had lost his way and Niro gently hugged him. Light guided him outside the sphinx. King Jiggy thanked them for finding Max and completing the puzzle!

There are so many different parts to our memory that all work separately and together to help us experience and remember life. Your task is to create a children's book about manny the monkey that creates a story highlighting KEY concepts for each aspect of memory: Encoding, Storage, & Retrieval. Your book should be like a “cliff notes” of memory and should walk me through these processes in an easy to understand manner. Have fun and be creative The book must play out like a cohesive story Requirements: ✧ Include all the section listed below ✧ Color!!! ✧ Title Page & Table of Contents ✧ Pictures dispersed throughout the book ✧ Effort is evident ✧ Information is CONCISE and put into easy to understand words, examples, etc. ✧ Make it MEANINGFUL to you! Use personal examples for concepts if possible! Three Main Chapters & Prologue (Introduction) ✓ Encoding o Automatic Vs. Effortful Processing ▪ Include explicit and implicit memories o Effortful Processing Strategies o Spacing Effect o Shallow Vs. Deep Processing (Meaningful) ✓ Storage o Explicit Memory System ▪ Frontal Lobes ▪ Hippocampus o Implicit Memory System ▪ Cerebellum ▪ Basal Ganglia o The Amygdala and Memory o Synaptic Changes and Memory Processing ✓ Retrieval o How do we measure retention? ▪ Recall, recognition, relearning o Retrieval Cues ▪ Priming ▪ Context Dependent Memory ▪ State Dependent Memory ▪ Serial Position Effect

Once upon a time, there was a little turtle named Timmy. Timmy lived in a pond with many other animals. Timmy loved to swim, but he was very shy and scared of trying new things. One sunny day, Timmy saw some frogs hopping and playing near the pond. The frogs were jumping from one rock to another. It looked like so much fun! Timmy wanted to join them but felt too scared. A kind frog named Freddy saw Timmy watching. "Hello, Timmy," said Freddy. "Do you want to play with us?" "I do," said Timmy, "but I am scared. I have never jumped from rock to rock before." Freddy smiled and said, "It's okay to be scared. We can practice together. I will help you." Timmy felt a little better. He decided to try. Freddy showed Timmy how to jump from one rock to the next. Timmy was very careful and made a small jump. He wobbled a bit but landed safely. "Great job, Timmy!" cheered Freddy. "Now, let's try another jump." Timmy tried again. Each jump made him feel braver. Soon, Timmy was jumping from rock to rock just like the frogs. He was having so much fun! By the end of the day, Timmy felt very proud. He had tried something new and discovered it wasn't so scary after all. Timmy thanked Freddy for his help. From that day on, Timmy was no longer afraid to try new things.
