(page 3) The pathogen starts making copies of itself. It thinks it can take over! But here come the first responders: Macrophages! These giant cells swallow up invaders and alert the other heroes! (Page 4) After gobbling up the enemy, the macrophages show pieces of the pathogen, called antigens, to the Helper T cells. This is like sending out an emergency call for backup! (page 5) The B cells hear the call and transform into plasma cells! They start making antibodies, tiny weapons that stick to the pathogens and stop them from spreading. (page 6) Meanwhile, Cytotoxic (Killer) T cells arrive! They find infected cells and destroy them to stop the pathogen’s plan! (page 7) Once the battle is almost won, Regulatory T cells make sure the superheroes don’t attack too much. They help the immune system calm down and return to normal. (page 8) After the battle, some B cells turn into Memory Cells. These cells remember the villain so they can defeat it even faster next time! (page 9) Bella feels better! Her primary immune response was strong, and next time, her secondary immune response will be even quicker! (page 10) Thanks to the Immune System Superheroes, Bella is safe! Her body is always ready for the next adventure!

Mom insisted that they needed to get some sleep and that they had the entire week to get know with their new sister. For Janice, sleep came easily, despite her excitement and newfound identity. She dreamed of being Mom's Christmas elf and wearing a green satin dress just like her sisters. She awoke the next morning happy and eager to face the day. The week went by quickly for the girls. Takes place in Biblical times. A lane man who can’t walk is laying on a mat on the side of the road sad. After a while people come to bring him food and comfort him since he can’t walk. Then, one day a crowd gathered to listen to a man name Jesus talk. He was known for performing miracles and healing the sick and wounded. The lame man heard about Jesus and thought maybe he can walk again today. The crowd was too big so the lame man’s friends made a way to get him to the roof where Jesus was speaking. They made a hole in the roof and carefully lowered him down right in front of Jesus. Jesus saw the lame man laying there and smiled at him. Jesus told him to stand up and walk. The Lame Man was in shock. His legs were now strong. He stood up, took his mat, and began to walk The Lame man started praising God with joy! The people who saw this miracle couldn’t believe their eyes. They celebrated for him. The Lame Man thanked Jesus The Lame Man walked everywhere he went that day with a smile on his face and told everyone about the miracle Jesus performed The Lame man’s heart with filled with gratitude knowing Jesus cared for him
