Page 1: Miko the Meerkat and Lizzy the lizard live in the hot and dry Kalahari Desert. Page 2: Miko and Lizzy are best friends and do everything together! Page 3: Miko is a bright (lively) and friendly meerkat. ( he loves popping and looking out of burrows to explore the Kalahari ) (Miko likes moving from place to place and can’t stay still!) Page 4: Lizzy is a clever lizard ( she loves to imagine about the stars in the sky so much that she sometimes forgets to listen in class ) whose mind never stopped racing. Page 5: Miko and Lizzy are different from their friends because they both have ADHD! Page 6: Miko struggled to stay still in class. He was always digging burrows and often got distracted during his How to Spot a Predator class. Page 7: Lizzy also struggled in class, she couldn’t focus on her sun safety class (she was easily distracted by the clouds in the sky and often forgot to take down her homework ) because of how fast her thoughts were moving. Page 8: (Miko and Lizzy struggled in class but their ADHD was an advantage!) After visiting Dr Wild, the Wildebeest, Miko and Lizzy learnt to do things that would help them to manage their ADHD. Page 9: Miko became the captain of the sand surfing team and had the fastest record in the desert! Miko was also top of his insect tracking class and created the first ever pair of insect spy goggles that could see different insect tracks and tells you what type of insect you are looking at! Page 10: Lizzy enjoyed stargazing so much that she was top of the class for astronomy and could name every constellation. Page 11: Even though Miko and Lizzy had some tough times with their ADHD, they both learnt cool tricks to help them feel better and do their best.

1. John Jr and Nazut were playing in the backyard, when the saw a few hot air balloons in the sky. 2. John Jr and Nazut thought it looked fun and went inside to tell John Jr's parents. 3. John Jr's parents seemed pretty receptive to possibly going on a Hot Air Ballon as a family. They told John Jr and Nazut to find out more information. 4. John Jr and Nazut went to the internet. They found a company that wasn't too far from their home. 5. They found out it would cost about $200 per person and would last about an hour. John Jr and Nazut went back and told John Jr's parents and his mom made the reservations. 6. The long awaited day for the hot air balloon arrived and it was beautifully clear. As the pilot inflates the balloon, John Jr and Nazut can feel the heat from the burners and hear them roar. Once balloon was upright everyone boarded the super size basket. The take off was slow. John Jr and Nazut felt a breeze everytime they went to a new altitude. 6. John Jr and Nazut feel weightless as they glide through the air with the wind, traveling at speeds of five to six miles per hour. The 360 degree view was spectacular. Everything below looked so tiny. As the end of the ride approached, John Jr and Nazut thanked the pilot for "a magical experience that' was peaceful, exhilarating, and gentle." 7. The pilot had to keep using the burners to get the balloon to land. Once landed, everyone left the basket. John Jr and Nazut Thanked the pilot for an awesome time.

The Rise of Liam Rose Liam Rose first stepped onto the ice at age 4, and from that moment, he was hooked. Now 13, he plays for Moon Middle School and the Arctic Foxes as a defenseman known for his hard work. Despite his potential, Liam struggles with confidence, often questioning if he’s good enough. His coach encourages him, saying, “Hockey is about more than skill—it’s about believing in yourself.” The Arctic Foxes enter a Michigan hockey tournament to face tough competition. Before the first game, Coach surprises Liam by assigning him to forward, urging him to use his speed and skill to score. Though nervous, Liam rises to the challenge. Midway through the second period, he intercepts the puck and scores a stunning goal, feeling the thrill of contributing offensively. In the second game, tied late in the third period, Liam doesn’t hesitate. He dekes past the goalie and scores the game-winner. In the third game, Liam returns to defense, playing a pivotal role in shutting down the opposing team and advancing the Arctic Foxes to the championship. The final game is intense, but Liam seizes his moment. Late in the game, he finds himself open in front of the net and scores the winning goal. The Arctic Foxes become tournament champions, and Liam is swarmed by his jubilant teammates. As the team hoists the banner, Liam realizes he’s proven himself—not just to others, but to himself. Coach’s words echo in his mind: “You’ve got what it takes. You always have.” From that day, Liam knows hockey is more than a sport; it’s a journey of self-discovery and confidence.

Our Kindergarten class is learning how to deal with big emotions. When they are feeling overwhelmed by big emotions they should tell an adult they need a break, how we can help them or what is making them feel that way. We want to help them understand their feeling so that they will be able to learn to self-regulate. We encourage deep breathing, breaks, walks, alone time and telling adults how they feel.

Victoria Sofia is a beautiful princess. With a fairy god mother that loved her very much. She lived dreaming of the day of her quinceñera & Sweet 16.
